Most organisations still treat cloud security and AI security as separate problems, run by separate teams, with separate tooling. That split doesn't hold up once generative AI workloads start touching production data, calling out to model endpoints and orchestrating actions across cloud services. An attacker doesn't care which team owns which layer — a compromised identity, an exposed storage account or a poorly guarded prompt path all lead to the same outcome.
Cloud & AI Security Engineering is the applied practice of extending the controls you already know — Zero Trust identity, network segmentation, data protection, detection and response — to cover the new layer that generative AI and agentic systems have introduced. That means securing Azure Security identity and access with Microsoft Entra ID, hardening the data and network boundaries around cloud workloads, and adding AI-specific controls: threat-modelling model endpoints, defending against prompt injection and jailbreak attempts, and locking down the data grounding pipelines behind retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). It also means using Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel to detect and respond to incidents across both layers, not two disconnected consoles.
This hub brings the discipline together: Cloud Security and Azure Security foundations, Zero Trust design, AI Security and Generative AI Security risks, and the Defender and Sentinel tooling used to operate all of it. The flagship programme is Cloud & AI Security Engineering (CPS-02) — an 8-week, live online course for people already working in cloud, infrastructure or security who now have AI workloads landing on their estate. It runs entirely online, worldwide, with evening and weekend UK-time cohorts chosen to overlap West Africa Time, reflecting the course's strong UK and Nigeria audience.
Cloudpilar Academy's courses are taught live by Muyiwa Ogunlade, a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) who also holds the Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert and Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate certifications — both independently verifiable on Credly and his public Microsoft Learn transcript (see /about/). He teaches from practice, not slides.
